It is a 13th century Romanic church, in Camino Manchego Road, for its part leading to “The Saint Jacob’s Way” to Santiago de Compostela. In facts The Santiago Church is one of the most historic and beautiful churches in Ciudad Real.
National Monument since 1982.
The awesome interior contains a magnificent coffered nave of the fourteenth century, built for the Master of the Military Order of Calatrava, Sir Pedro Muñiz Godoy, after which the central apse over the shrine there is
a eight Dragons fresco. And there is other gothic fresco on the wall next with pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela Cathedral.
